Melbourne - Part 1
Trip to Melbourne - Part 1
Touched down on 19/04/05 @ Melbourne Airport at abt 0430 Melbourne time and finished clearing the customs, collected baggages etc at abt 0530. Had trouble at the customs there. Almost got deported back to Singapore because of 'lies'.. hahaa.. What a 'nice' start to the trip huh..lolx.. Met Sam, the Singaporean RMIT student who had been tasked to picked us up, for the first time.. Took 2 Maxi cabs to Clock Tower Quest Inn - the apartment we were to live in for the subsequent 6 weeks..

The outside view of the Inn
Unpacked our stuffs and rested for a while before going out for a brief tour around the city and shopping for apartment's food supply with Sam. One of the places we went to was the Yarra River. There's nthg much there really but it's the place where the first photos were taken.

First grp photo taken @ Yarra River (though there were only 8 of us instead of 10)

Nice landscape. Picture taken from Yarra River

Yarra Explorer - Melbourne River Cruises. Never get to board it though..lolx

Night scenery of Melbourne City
The next day, went to RMIT for an introduction on the Uni and a brief tour around the campus. Met my supervisor, Dr. Jeff Hughes, for the first time.

The street in RMIT where we walked almost everyday to get to Building 3, where most of us were working in. Haiz, miss this street alot..

The common room/resting area where the water cooler, fridge, microwave, sink are situated. A 'cool' place to take a short break..lolx

The Environmental Lab, the place where me and Zhen Yang worked in for most of our attachment time
Got released after all the introductions. Went to buy things for our first steamboat session of the trip.. haaa.. It proved to be more steamboat sessions after that but i shall just highlight this first one -_-

The steamboat @ our apartment
On the first friday, we had our first excursion to Little River organised by the environmental side of RMIT's Applied Chemistry. In that excursion, we managed to take a glimpse of sheeps, little kangaroos and other animals as well. I would say this is the best of the three excursion that we would have had.

Little kangaroos that we saw at the sanctuary. They would hop away once you gets near them.

Me, the sheep and it's owner -_-

A nice creature! Forget what's its name though. But what i like abt it is its ability to camouflage and its arrogant pose.. nice eh? hahaa..

A grp photo @ Little River
After the excursion, we went back to our apartments, bathed, rested for a while before finding Mdm Ho, our liason officer from SP, who had arrived that day. She was to be in Melbourne for abt 3 days or so. We then went to a restaurant to have our dinner and later 'pyscho-ed' her to join us to Crown, where the casino is situated(Just a note here: I didn't gamble a single cent whenever we went to the casino. I just went in, no cost for admission fyi, and see others play to win or lose. I didn't commit any sin yar? =PpP) Yuppz, once in the casino, we got separated from Mdm Ho and her son. After the casino, we had some desserts and went home at abt 1 or 2 am.. haaaa..

View of Flinder's Street Train Station @ Night, on our way to Crown. Nice hor? =PpP

Grp photo opposite the train station

Structure outside Crown where fireworks will come out from every hour.. cool isn't it?
The next day, we had to wake up quite early coz Mdm Ho were to fetch us to the Great Ocean Road. It's a great place where there's plenty of nice sceneries and landscapes. The journey took abt 3 hrs liddat (if i not wrong coz i got poor memory.. hahaa..) The $$ paid for this trip was definitely well worth it and i would say it's a once in a lifetime experience. There were a couple of places of interest on the Great Ocean Road which we went to but I only remember the place of one of them, the 12 apostles!! =PpP Well, i'll just let the pictures do the talking.. hahaa..

The 12 apostles!! =D

Ellyana, Joanne, Zhi Yong and Samantha (The reason why i put up this pic is to show how great my photography skills is. Of course, this pic is a little distorted becoz of resizing. But yes, this pic is taken by yours truly -_-)

Me and Zhi Yong at one of the places which I forgot its name.. lolx

Me, Zhen Yang and Joseph at one of the places which I forgot its name oso.. hahaa...

More lovely scenery =D

The best scenery in my opinion. OoOh, i just love it!! It's set as my wallpaper now and I'm kinda miss the place.. sigh..

Grp photo @ one of the places in the Great Ocean Road
Okie, that's it for the updates for now.. Shall continue when I have the time.. More intersting parts are yet to come especially the last few days.. hahaa... And abt the photos, I have a lot more photos to share.. When I finish uploading them, I'll post the webbie address here. So watch out for the remaining updates and the photo link!! =PpP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just to sidetrack from the Melbourne trip, the first week of sch had been juz like the previous years. Administration stuffs, intro to modules, collection of money were some of the usual things done. The time table for this final year is quite relax, maybe becoz of the final year project. Anyway, went walking arnd after sch at JP on Monday and yesterday, we spent our afternoon @ Samantha's house.. Dun tink we could do much of these in our final year, so you could say we were juz enjoying while we could.. haaa..
Haven't had a nice and proper rest after i came back. Last weekend was spent @ Clementi, spending my time helping out at my cousin's wedding.. And tmr, i have to help again, this time is my bro-in-law's sister wedding.. Haiz, feel so tireeedddd....
Anyway, still feeling abit undecided on what i should do.. I know, being hesitant and indecisive will get me nowhere..Haiz, i'm really at a lost now.. Will all the memories remain just as they are? Follow my brain or follow my heart?!?! Sigh, sigh, sigh....
