Updates, Updates!

Some updates since my last post. Well, my NS life in DHQ 'A' has officially ended, as of last Sunday 27th July. It was an emotional day, as I bid farewell to a place once I called my 2nd home. How I wish I need not have to go through all these, but then again, every beginning has an end. Being an emo kid, I became emotional as I alighted bus 172 and walked to stn for work for one last time. I went to my locker room, changed, went to briefing and fall-in, all for one last time. During work, I didn't do much things as I continued to recall how my 1 1/2 years have been. Sad emotions began to set-in as the the day went by. Having to look at the clock and noticing how fast the minute and hour hands went by, was for once a torture. The 'peak' came when the clock strikes half-past 7, as I began to bid farewell to some people at the workplace. The day ended, as I travelled home with my colleagues, for one last time.

On Tuesday, the team organised a team gathering cum my 'Ord' function. After finishing their night shift, they picked me up from NUS as I had to settle some admin stuffs there. How nice of them! We reached the chalet at Aloha Loyang at about 3pm. Preparations then began straightaway. The barbecue then started at around 6pm and by then, more guests were starting to arrive. As I ate the good food, I tried to have good look at all the familiar faces I've seen every day, where few of them I'm sure I'm seeing the last. The time went by as I tried to mingle with most of the people there. And not long after, I realised it has reached 9pm which means it was about time for my farewell speech. The speech was one of the hardest I've ever had to make. Seeing the faces of whom I've considered part of my family, was heartbreaking. When my speech was over though, I made way to Fauzan for his 'Zapin dance'. And after that, I thought the night was over. Shockingly, I was asked to perform the same type of dance with Fauzan. Oh Shitz! But not wanting to be a spoilt-sport, I obliged. I just tried to follow whatever he did and I know the audience must have been looking at me and thinking "I can't bear this any longer, When is he going to stop!" haha.. That was my first ever time dancing close-up in front of so many people and oh boy, was it an experience!

After that, we played some games like 'charade' and 'murderer', to kill the time. It was rather fun with the number of people we had. And the forfeit was good too! Sambal Coke!! Thumbs up for its inventor! haha.. We played till about midnight, where most of the people left, leaving those that were staying overnight behind. After that, I bathed and then chatted around, looking towards the sea. When it's about 4am, everyone went to their rooms to sleep, except for me, Jerry and Faizal. I do not know why but I don't feel like sleeping on that night. So, we chatted among ourselves, with a wide range of topics, up until 9am! I did learn quite a number of things through the 'chat-session'. Some of which are invaluable, for which I'll definitely keep through my life. Thanks guys! Anyway, staying up that late had made me 24 hours without sleep!

The check-out time was 9am, so the three of us began waking the rest up. After checking out, went to Changi Village to have our Nasi Lemak breakfast. And it was somehow, my last breakfast with the team. How sad was that! After that, I bid my farewell as the team dropped me off at NUS (yes, NUS again!). Went there to purchase my Fujitsu notebook. Since it was cash and carry, imagine how difficult I was carrying on one hand all the notebook thingy, and on the other, my present from the team. Decided not to take a cab cos I think it's quite a waste of money. Anyway, I have two notebooks now. One acts as a desktop replacement, the other for my mobile computing. Oh, and that also means I'm 2.5K poorer! Darn! But it's okay, I'll look at it as an investment. Hopefully, it will last for quite a while! haha.. Anyway, I reached home about 3pm.

Oh ya, speaking about school, my results for the Qualifying English Test is out! I got Band 5, where Band 6 is the best. Alhamdulilah, because of that, I have 1-2 modules lesser to take! =)

Anyway, to my team, thanks for the bag, the chalet and everything that you've done/given to me. It has been a very memorable 1 1/2 team with you guys. I know there's no amount of thanks that could express my gratitude to you. But still, THANK YOU! The memory of working with you guys will always remain deep in my heart, no matter what happens. It's quite a pity, I did not managed to see everyone that I wanted to see on my last day of work/chalet. But it's alright, if there's fate, I'm sure we'll meet again. From this day onwards, though I won't be seeing you guys everyday, the memory of DHQ 'A' will forever be engraved in my heart and stays in mind. Thanks for everything.

To Ms Nurain, thanks for coming to the gathering! It was a pleasant surprise to see that you did came. And our apology if we've not been a good host. Hope you've enjoyed your time there, though. The games, the sambal coke! hehe.. And I'm sorry you have to bear seeing someone trying to 'dance'. haha. But nonetheless, thanks for your presence ya!
