LIVE 8

I know i'm not supposed to be blogging now.. Shld be studying for my quizzes on Tuesday.. but i juz can't resist the blogging temptation.. hahaa.. Anyway, just woke up not long ago.. still feeling abit tired though..

Yupz, had gone out last nite.. hehe.. Went to CHIJMES yesterday to catch the LIVE 8 concerts shown on the big screens there.. Well, if you didn't know what i'm talking abt or didn't catch it last nite on Starhub cable, LIVE 8 is about 5 concerts being held at different cities at the same time.. and for each concert, there's a plethora of artists performing.. LIVE 8 is part of a day of action across the world which kick-starts The Long Walk to Justice that calls on the leaders of the world’s richest countries to act when they meet in Gleneagles on 6th-9th July. Each artist perform for free and it's not the money they are looking for but our voices.. It is calling for people across the world to unite in one call- to make poverty history!! Quite meaningful really.. You can be part of it by putting ur name in Live8 webbie..

Well, the pre-concert segment was supposed to start at 8 but we were held up for a while at City Hall coz one of JJ's(my friend) friend was late! lolx.. but nvm, when we arrived, we didn't missed much things fortunately.. In fact, we arrived in time just before Electrico performed.. Yeppz, the band was there.. Oh, did i mentioned Carrie Chong was there too? hehehe.. Yeah, she together with Justin Ang from Perfect 10 were the hosts for the pre-concert activites.. Realised Carrie is quite pretty when seen up-close in real life.. =PpP Okok, shall get back to the concerts..lolx.. So, the concerts started at 9pm with an intro of what LIVE 8 is all about.. Then the first performance, if i didn't forget was by U2 in UK.. Anyway, some of the other artists we managed to catch are, PAul McCartney, Coldplay, Elton John, Dido (from London), Duran Duran (from Rome), Bjork, Good Charlotte and McFly (from Tokyo).. Personally enjoyed performances by Dido and Coldplay.. Decided not to wait until late, left CHIJMES at abt 11pm and head to Esplanade.. Oh but b4 i forget, got this waitress form one of the bars @ CHIJMES.. she's quite cute.. hehee.. =X

So, we walked all the way to Esplanade to have something to eat.. Along the way, saw a lot of police and army personnel, ALOT!! It's like you will see at least one police/army personnel for every 50m you walked.. And some of the roads are closed.. I guess this had got to do with the upcoming IOC session and also the NDP rehersals.. But was really really surprised by the number of police officers in the area.. Thot got terrorist threat or wat *oOps* =X.. Anyway, reached Glutton's bay after abt 10-15 mins walk or so.. Noticed quite a lot of pple eating there.. Well, i had fried rice and some sticks of satay =D

Left the place at abt 1140 and headed to City Hall MRT.. Well, was practically rushing for the last train..haha.. When we arrived at the station there, there was still the last train BUT it's for me only.. lolx.. You see, the last train only ends at Kranji, so JJ and his friend, who stays in CCK ended up had to take the Night Rider instead..haaa, poor thing, after all the rush -_-.. So, i took the train and arrived at Woodlands at 1245am and then rushed to the bus interchange to catch the last bus.. Luckily, it had not depart yet.. *Phew* Reached home abt 15 mins later and no, i didn't go straight to my bed.. went to spend some time surfing the net first.. hahaa.. Went to sleep at abt 2am.. -_-

Okie dokie, that's it i guess.. really had a great time last nite.. and yeah, it's 2 late nights in 2 weekends oready for me.. Will next saturday be a hat-trick? lolx.. kkx, i really shld stop now and START on my revisions!! Wish me luck for my quizzes.. Ciaoz~!~!
