Happy Birthday Singapore!!

It has been some time since I last posted an update.. Partly becoz I've busy with sch wrk lately and also nthg interesting to blog about.. And it's also a coincidence that for the past 3 posts and this, there is a 10 days space in between(see the posted dates and you'll see).. haha.. Anyway, its 9th August today, hence I would like to wish a Happy Birthday Singapore!! YEAH!!! Happy 40th National Day!!! WeEeEeEe~!~!

Yeap, saw the National Day Parade on tv just now.. Quite interesting since not every year it's held at the padang.. and everytime its held there, there would always be extra things such as the passing of the mobile columns.. Oh ya, first time saw Cai Chun Jia just now performing.. For a moment, I thought she looked like Stephanie Sun =X.. haha.. Anyway, the part that never fails to catch my attention for every national day parade would have to be the actual parade segment itself.. And for the last two years or so, it always reminds me of my time in NPCC back in sec sch.. Haiz, talking about it now really makes me miss the old times..

Warning: Whatever that is after this is a reminiscent of my CCA life. Reading it may cause boredom -_-

It's quite funny actually at how I initially did not chose NPCC as my CCA when I was in sec 1.. I was actually selected for the sch's soccer team.. But after being 'psychoed' by a fren and hearing negative comments about how my studies would suffer if i stayed in Soccer for my CCA, I 'jumped ship' to NPCC.. but that also means my chance of representing my sch in soccer was gone.. haiz, sad... hahaa..

First few months of NPCC life didn't go well with me.. But wat do you expect? A slacker like me suddenly being exposed to 'torturous' activities.. or rather 'life-changing' activites.. hahaa.. Drills, physical trainings, lectures and even games/sing-a-long sessions doesn't seems to amuse me.. And not to mention, every friday night will be spent on me ironing uniform, polishing boots and the constant seasoning of my beret.. Why? Because of trainings, trainings and more trainings!!! lolx.. But of course, as time went by, I became used to them and my attraction towards this CCA began to grow..

Then in sec 2, something happened.. A rather bad thing actually.. =X Me and my friends was charged with insubordination in NPCC.. Reason? Coz one of my frens suggested that we skipped this particular training.. And he came up with a letter and quite a few of us went on to sign it.. In other words, we had done a petition.. So, if i remember correctly, the petition was submitted and yeah, we did not turn up on that particular day.. Then the officer-in-charge got to know abt this and tink the next sch day, we were all called up.. Then as you would have expect, we gt lectured by him.. And soon, the vice-principal and principal got to know abt it too.. And they even told the whole school.. so 'malu' sia.. hahaa.. As for the punishment, I forgot oready how we were punished but I think we were just let off with a stern warning.. *naughty, naughty me*... =PpP Oh yeah, sec 2 life in NPCC was also memorable becoz of the NCOs? hahaa... yeap, tink that batch of NCOs that took care of us(the last ones before we became one ourselves) were the best!! Maybe becoz of the smaller age gap as compared to the previous ones..

Though sec 2 life was memorable, sec 3 and 4 life would have to be the best!! Why? Because it was during that time that we were the non-commisioned officers(NCO).. haaaa.. And yeah, as an NCO, I was the logistics head.. quite fun to go through whatever 'rubbish' was there in the NPCC room and store.. -_- Oh, and it was also during these times that we learnt rifle drills, the most interesting type of drills I feel.. Life as an NCO also brought about heavier responsibilities.. For every trainings, there would be a de-brief session.. Sigh, I miss them manzz.. lolx.. And i missed the two times when I became 'PO'.. Wearing full-uniform with the 'PO' thingy on the arm the whole day and commanding the parade at the start and end of trainings.. Cool!! hahaa...

Oh yar, what constantly reminds me of NPCC for every NDP is, as i had said earlier, the parade segment.. Since my life in Kranji, I've participated in my sch NDP.. Once as a marching contingent and twice as the leading contingent (Guard of Honour equivalent).. Being in the leading contingent was great, though carrying the heavy rifle isn't..haaa.. But for both times, I was the right marker for the contingent.. It also means you are one of the first three to lead your contingent into the parade.. That's quite an honour.. haaa.. What's regretful for both NDP as leading contingent was that we didn't get to wear the No. 1 uniform coz of the absence of any VIP present such as the members of parliament.. If only one was present.. haiz... -_-

Hmm, if I were to go through every detail of my NPCC life, until tmr oso cannot finish.. lolx.. But basically, I'm really missing my times there.. The weekly trainings, the rise from a cadet to a sergeant rank, participation in the sch NDP and of course the pple there, NCOs, CIs etc.. haiz... I miss everything and everyone.. Oh, and I have to specially say this.. I'm also constantly missing a certain someone from there! We have been constantly in contact but it's been about 3 years since we last met.. sigh, I've been longing to see her but evrytime didn't get a chance to.. haiz, nvm.. but i still do hope we'll meet soon to catch up.. =)

Okies, that's it for this update.. been slacking @ home the whole time today.. shall start on preparing for my case study quiz tmr.. haa.. Wish me luck! Ciaoz!!
