Bad Day

I hate today!

All my dreams are shattered, all my hopes are dashed. All within a single day.

One after another, I was proven wrong by 'someone' out there who is stronger than me. Is this called fate? Why is then fate so cruel to me?

I'm so dejected... =(

Accident

Went to visit an ex-colleague at TTSH with the guys after work today. He had a very terrible accident with his bike and was admitted few days ago. The sight of him was very sad - his hand and leg were casted. And he also just had the operation and when we visited him, the anesthetic was beginning to wear off. So, we didn't get to chat with him much coz most of the time he was moaning with pain. It really was a sad sight, seriously.

The injuries he had were terrible. The right hand was broken totally and one of the legs was dislocated badly too. Luckily though, he had no head injuries. Heard from his girlfriend that a car hit him from behind, a case of hit-and-run accident.

It made me realised that no matter how careful we are, if we're destined to go through certain things, there's no stopping it. We have to go through the tests no matter what. But passing it will make you a better person, definitely.

Life of a Telephone Operator

Being a telephone operator is not easy. Being a POLICE telephone operator is more difficult. So far, throughout my time being an operator, I've experienced many different types of callers. From the rude, disrespectful ones to the courteous, appreciative ones. Yesterday, though, I experienced something which I've never came across before. There's this lady who called to enquire about something (which I forgotten what exactly is it about.. lol) and before she ended the call, she said, "Thanks dear." I was a little shocked upon hearing that coz this is the first time such things happen. Maybe that's the way she talked but who would have guessed that someone would say such things in a police hotline! hahaa...

And this incident reminds me of another one which happen not too long ago. There's this female caller who called the hotline several times to complain about something. She complained, complained and complained throughout our conversation BUT at the end of our last conversation, she thanked me and said I'm very courteous when talking to her. HAHA!

Oh ya, yesterday, I got audited by the SQB. It was a surprise coz I wasn't informed of any auditing that was going on. So, when that particular caller called in and said he wanted to complain about an NPC, I noted the details he gave me and then I transferred him over to the SQB side. He called back some time later telling me that it was an audit. Phew, luckily I did not scold him or what... hehe..

I received weird calls everyday.....

There's this girl from this food stall whom I can see was nervous when she was handling me yesterday. I felt strange coz I thought I was the only one around who would feel nervous when I come near certain girls.. hahaa.. prety pretty =P

Life

How many times have you felt the sense of deja vu before? I've felt few times before and most of them have been unpleasant ones. And everytime it struck me, I'd think to myself, "Didn't I went through this before?" And I would sighed after each occurrance.

Life is full of surprises and is unpredictable. We can plan all we want, right up to the details, but when the time comes, things may not happen like how we wanted it to be. The strange twists do ascertain myself that there's someone out there who is more stronger than us. All we can do is to just plan, the rest is up to Him.

All of us do fantasy at some point of time. For me, I felt I've fantasy a little more than usual and I think I need to put a stop in all those unnecessary fantasies. The reason why I like to fatasize is that they make me feel happy. Though it's only for a short while, they make me escape from the reality I'm in and into an imaginary beautiful world. But now, I realised I shouldn't be wasting time thinking about things that won't happen in reality no matter what. Morever, I have to begin to agree with my friend, who says that some of my fantasies affect and hurt others. I would still continue to fantasize, although it won't be about silly things like before.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but, my happier days now are those when I'm at work..

It's hard to trust anyone these days. There are no longer the days when you can can trust someone without any slightest hint of suspicion. People around you, even those whom you thought are your close friends, are betraying you leisurely. Maybe it's true, the only person whom you can trust is ourselves.

Police Day Parade 2007!!

After 2 months of hardwork, countless hours of trainings and rehearsals, some off days being burnt, today was finally the day. The day to showcase what we have trained for the last couple of months!

Reached SIS at 8.30am for the last rehearsal. It ended at about 11 plus and then we had our lunch break till 2p.m. Before 2p.m. though, guests and visitors was already pouring into the stadium. They were super early! At 2p.m. sharp, we assembled at the main arena for some briefing before dispersing ourselves into our form-up areas. The real parade starts at about 3.30p.m.

When we heared the call of drums, we began to march smartly into the arena. The atmosphere was fantastic! The stadium was almost fully-packed with people. And when we did the berhenti, everyone in the stadium applauded us. Boy, that feeling was marvellous!! It was undescribable! The parade segment ended at about 5p.m. with us, the marching contingents, marching off the arena. Upon reaching the carpark, all of us were feeling relieved and euphoric! We were glad that everything had went pretty well and all our hardwork has paid off! To me, it almost felt like my POP day! heh..

I stayed back with a few of my division-mates to continue watching the performance segment. There were performances by the combined band from the ASEAN countries, PDT, SOC-PTT, Traffic Police and many more. The best peformance, I feel, has to be by the Traffic Police with their awesome skills and techniques, especially during the drifting of the 2 cars! Totally fabulous!! You should have been there to witness the awesome display! Oh, one of the TP officer riding the bike was quite hot too!! Oops! =X hehee...

Anyway, the whole thing ends at about 6.20p.m. Soon after it was done, I hurriedly exited the stadium for fear of being caught up by the crowd. Took a bus to Kallang MRT and reached home at about 7.20p.m.

PDP 2007 will forever stay in my heart as a one-in-a-lifetime experience! Contingent 8 from Golf and Juliet division rocks!! Thanks guys for making this experience a memorable one! Till we meet again one day. Cheers!
