Quick update

It's been a week since my last update and yet again it has been a case of wanting-to-but-no-time-to-update scenario.

The past week has been pretty okay, with the start of the practical and tutorial. The practical for last Tuesday involved alot time wasting. Time was wasted just waiting to reflux that certain compound!! While waiting, had a good chat with the lab assistant though. Well, not really a chat, but more of a listening-to-what-he-say, cos most of the time he was talking to my friends in mandarin -____-. This is one of the advantage of knowing another language, besides your mother tongue and english! haha... Anyway, hopefully the practical on this coming Tuesday will be better in terms of the time spent!

Oh yeah, I had a bad day on Friday. A lot of things didn't turn out well. But I shall not elaborate what they were. I just hope that the week will start better this week! =)

And I hope my almost-one-week sickness will go off soon. It feels so bad to be sick now, especially since it's the busy period and the fact that I'm fasting. May I get well soon! Insyaallah

All right, I think I should turn in now. Have to get the rest as the busy week starts again tmr! Take care!

Brief updates

I have quite a few things to update but I don't really have the time.

The fasting month has started and I'm grateful that I'm able to greet this holy month again. A month later, Hari Raya will be here again. Ahh, how time flies!

Tomorrow, or rather later on, will be the start of my 3rd week of school. It means I will be pretty much occupied with school work from now on! Shucks!

I have decided not to use my psychic ability since months ago. But a couple of days ago, when I tried to use it, it worked like a charm. That can be good or a bad thing. Nevertheless, I will continue living my life without depending on this. I guess I would rather prefer surprises, rather than knowing what is going to happen in the future. That way, life would be much more exciting.

Oh ya, Ms Sunshine was finally back to school on Friday. After a week long absence, I could not describe how happy and thankful I was in seeing her! hah

All right, that's it for this brief update. I should be sleeping now. 8am lesson tmr. Bye!

Friends

Currently in my second year, I realised what people are saying is true. It's hard to make friends in the university.

Some even look and screen your educational background before making you part of their clique.

Personally, even if I don't make any more friends throughout the duration of my stay, I'll be glad that I still have the few current friends around me. You don't need to have many friends to live a happy life. After all, it's not the quantity that matters, it's the quality.

3 more days to friday! Yeah!

First week of the new semester!

With a blink of an eye, the first week of school has ended. A couple of things happened during this past week, both good and bad. Currently, my shiok days are Tuesdays and Fridays cos I'll be having only a 2 hour lecture for both days! Reminiscence of my Year 1 Sem 1? Definitely yeah!! These are the days when we ask each other, "Go home do what?" will be replied with, "Go home sleep lah!" hahahahaa!!

I think it's becoming a trend that there will be some cock-up with the online registration system each semester. Last semester was about the LSM practical, this semester is about all my cores' practicals!! After having to wake-up very early on Tuesday to get the desired slots using the first-come-first-served system, we were told that very night that there would be a reset of the whole thingy and have to redo them the next day!! What's more, the opening time was set at an awkward time of 4pm, which is right after a lecture, and it means we have to do it in school! So unfair! After some anxious moments though, we fortunately 'get back' the slots that we wanted. Thank god! If not, I'll go to their office and give them a tongue-lashing!!! (Just joking lah, I'm not that brave.. LOL)

Other than that, Wednesday and Thursday were all good. Although the long 4 hour break was a torture, I get to see people whom I've missed! hahaha.. Oh, but going home at 6pm was no joke though!! Grrrrr...

Friday, as it occurred, was kind of a bad day. Although it was a very short day in school, I was told by someone I know that she's been affected with the H1N1 virus!! I thought the government said that the peak have past already, but how come people still got infected!?! Arrghh! With the reported amount of fatality and the number of people in the intensive care, getting the swine flu is no laughing matter. Having to stay at home, when school has just started, and thus missing lectures, further adds up the misery! Haiz, I really hope the flu will go away as soon as possible. I guess it's true what people say that you'll only begin to realise the impact on certain things, if it happen to you, or the people around you. Anyway to her, I really hope that she'll get well real soon! *prays hard* =(

Please recover fast for the sky is gloomy without your presence! =)

Another semester begins..

Yeah, tomorrow is the start of the new academic year, a new semester for me!! Time do fly very fast. One year has past and two more undergraduate years to go!! What lies after the university life still remains largely unknown. But one thing for sure, it's something that I'm looking forward to. I would have completed around 1/4 of a century of continuous education (you learn something right after you're brought to this world) by then, and it'll be a milestone to step into the working life, where most people say, "This is where life really begins". In the meantime, I shall work hard so as not to feel disappointed or filled with regrets when I received my degree.

My resolution for this semester is very simple. I just hope I can avoid another 'C' grade for my Inorganic module and get decent grades for the others. If I could improve my CAP, then that would be a bonus. As they say, some form of stress is good to motivate oneself, but too much can kill you!

All righty, that's it for the short update. May tomorrow be a good day. I shall sleep early later. I hope.... haha!

The Hangover

Hola!!

Counting down... Exactly 1 week from now, I'll back to school again! Boringggggggggg lah!! haha.. I still wanna slack and play again leh! hehe

Slacking is what I do best. The last weekend though, was anything, but slack! On Friday and Saturday, together with bro and sis, I painted the house! More specifically, the living and dining area!! Yes, the walls and ceilings are now having a fresh coat of paint! Due to the amount of work done, I woke up with muscle aches on both Saturday and Sunday! But I guess it's all worth it. Furthermore, it's only like once in a year I have to do such things. Oh yeah, that reminds me, I have slightly more than 2 weeks before the month of Ramadan (fasting month) starts! And that means HARI RAYA is coming too! Next month, in fact!! Oh shucks, this is too fast!! hahaha

Oh yeah, on Sunday, I was actually planning to take a rest due to the paintings done consecutively the 2 days before. But I got a last minute invitation to join Sam and Yong at Suntec for some stuffs. So, met them at slightly after noon (sorry I'm late -_-), and going through the stuffs (which I will not mention for privacy purpose.. lol), we then head over to Marina Square to buy the tickets to The Hangover! After that, went back over to suntec to have our lunch there, before going back to MS to catch the movie. And after the movie, we went back AGAIN to suntec to get some drinks before WALKING to Plaza Singapura where we chit-chatted at Mac till we decided it's late enough that we should go home. That's how our Sunday was spent -- practically alot of walking! hahahaa

Oh oh, about the movie, it was a freaking hilarious movie, in my opinion! The script was good, the acting were positive. I think it can rival the 40-years old virgin in terms of the comedy! hahaha.. Though it was NC16, some of the scenes totally caught me off guard, especially that chinese/korean gangster part! LOL.. All in all, it was a great movie and I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars!! You should watch it, but not with a family member though! -_-

Anyway, yesterday night I started to become nostalgic and went through the files I had in my old lappy, which were basically about my poly life. I went through word documents, project files, pictures, conversations up till 3am in the morning. Reading through the chat logs had made me realise 2 things:

1) I was childish and kind of immature especially in the first year.
2) I have sacrificed quite a fair bit towards the people around me -- to maintain, salvage relationships.

While I believe I have improved on point 1 over the last 5 years or so, I have never really change when it comes to the second one. Going by the feedback from my dear brothers on my supposedly last day of NS last year, I have constantly been the same kind of person who agrees to do things just because I don't want to destroy a relationship with the other party, even though I'm not really comfortable doing the things being asked. That has been the story of my life so far. And like what my colleagues told me, I ought to change this aspect of mine. Not because keeping relationships are not worth the effort, but this is for my own good. Like what one of them said, "You have to learn to say No sometimes." Hmmm.....
